We ‘think’ when we pour tea

Everything has so many layers, and don’t we get fascinated by its wonder? Nothing is just one thing, and nothing has just one purpose.

Life stays on track, and sometimes it derails or shows unexpected events. Life could be full of joy sometimes, and some days it’s just very difficult. Everything is so multi-dimentional, nothing is flat or just one thing.

Tea is like that. The Korean tea ceremony is like that.

As part of a ritual, it could be quiet and serious; then, if it’s communal, family-oriented, or part of an event, it could get celebratory. Then, when it's a solo tea ceremony for oneself, it could be meditative.

I was hosting a quite large-scale tea ceremony over the last couple of days, and we had so many conversations about life. We all had different backgrounds from different countries. We were listening and talking and sipping tea. We were one being, then we were so many different being at the same time.

Everything has so many layers, and don’t we get fascinated by its wonder?

Nothing is just one thing, and nothing has just one purpose.

We try to acknowledge that. That’s what makes Heesum, Heesum.

We think when we pour tea.

Tea is never just tea.

We are never just a tea room.
