Intercity travel: From Incheon Airport to Downtown Seoul

Traveling from Incheon International Airport (ICN) into the heart of Seoul is simple and efficient. Whether you prefer a fast train ride, a scenic bus route, or the comfort of a private car, here is a complete guide to starting your journey smoothly.

Option 1: AREX Express Train (Fastest & Non-Stop)

The AREX (Airport Railroad Express) Express Train is the fastest way to beat the traffic and head straight into the city center.

This premium, non-stop train takes you directly from Incheon Airport (Terminal 1 or 2) to Seoul Station in just 43 to 51 minutes.

It features assigned seating, dedicated luggage racks, and free Wi-Fi, making it a stress-free choice after a long-haul flight.

Option 2: All-Stop Train (Budget-Friendly Commuter Line)

If you are looking for a cost-effective option or need to head to areas outside of Seoul Station, the All-Stop Train is highly practical.

This is a standard subway commuter line that stops at 10 major transit stations (such as Hongik University or Gongdeok) along the way before arriving at Seoul Station.

It takes about an hour to reach the final stop. While it requires no advance booking, please note that it does not have assigned seating and can get quite crowded during local rush hours.

Option 3: Deluxe Limousine Buses (Most Convenient for Heavy Luggage)

If you have multiple bags or prefer not to navigate stairs and transfers in the subway system, the Deluxe Airport Limousine Buses are an excellent choice.

These spacious buses run frequently from just outside the arrival gates and connect directly to major hotel districts and key landmarks throughout downtown Seoul. You can purchase tickets easily at the automated kiosks outside the terminal doors.

Important Schedule Note: Unlike the airport train which has a rigid timetable, Airport Limousine Buses have strict cutoff times in the late evening. If your flight lands late at night or gets delayed, please make sure to check the final departure schedules for your specific bus route so you do not miss the last bus into the city.

Once you successfully make your way into downtown Seoul and settle into your accommodations, we invite you to wash away your travel fatigue at Heesum. Located just a short walk from the central transit hubs, our tea room offers a quiet sanctuary to slow down and decompress with traditional court-style rituals, artisan tea drawing, and technical malcha whisking sessions.

If you encounter any unexpected issues or have urgent questions regarding your arrival and transfer, please feel free to email us at any time for help.
