Water deer

I don't think I can have a discussion on the government’s foreign currency policy in this challenging international political situation with a water deer, but I still love watching them.

Some days, I go out for a walk just to see them. When I spot them in the bush, I whisper to myself, "There they are." No matter how quietly I whisper or how far away they are, they always hear me; they raise their heads and watch. They are so sensitive.

©Jason, "There they are."

When I see street cats, I say hello. Some ignore me, some just look, and some approach to rub their faces against my knees. I can make a fairly realistic cat sound. Sometimes, I can understand what they want or how they feel.

I often feel more comfortable with animals, trees, and plants. I don't have to say anything; simply by looking at them, I can sense their needs or their state of being. I say a quiet hello, and if they approach, I slowly spread my arms to rub their heads. I like doing that, and some animals seem to as well.

On days when I work alone, I don’t get to speak to anyone all day. I am fine with that. I have to talk quite alot during tea sessions, so I’m fine not speaking some days. I can simply just stand and look into the eyes of an animal instead.

Sometimes, I think they feel what I am thinking. I think they can tell that I really want to rub their heads.

While on a stroll this evening, I saw a couple of water deer and many trees. Sometimes I place my hands on a tree and speak to it; I know they can hear me. I feel more comfortable near animals, trees, streams, and mountains.

Becuase we don’t speak each other’s language, water deer and I can actually talk to each other just by looking at each other’s eyes.

I don't have to talk all the time. I talked a lot in the past. I can just listen, or I can just look into eyes.
