Grand
“Things take time. And I’m not even talking about honing one’s skill on something to perfection. That's a rather small matter, and I don't care about small matters anymore. Or at least I try not to.
Did you know that the Ice Age lasted 10,000 years, and in the grand scheme of things, we are still in an ice age?
Things take time. And when I say that, I don't mean weeks or months, or years or centuries. I mean the kind of time we can't really comprehend as time. Think about it: how does 10,000 years feel to you? It’s hard to process several centuries or the entirety of human civilization, but 10,000 years? It doesn't even sound like time anymore. It’s purely mathematical now.
Everything—I mean every single thing—will eventually make sense. But only in the grand scheme of things. Most things, in a span of 100 years, will look like nonsense. And that’s how it's supposed to be. The universe breathes on a different scale.
It’s not because the planet, nature, or whatever you’d like to call the universe or this world, works in one obvious way. Everything works toward existing. Nothing aims to stop existing. So everything, in the grand scheme of things, must make sense.
Does that make sense?”
“Why do you care so much about this cosmic law of existence nowadays?”
“I guess, Jason, I just got exhausted from all the thinking.”
“I don’t know J, last summer was pretty hot and I don’t think we live in the Ice age.”
