A Pure Gathering with Scholars in the West Garden on a Late Summer Day
In the valley, faint clouds rise, breathing out cool shade,
Moving our seats to a finer spot, the scenery deepens further.
Mountain water trickles softly, chilling the rocks below,
As tea smoke wisps gently up, piercing through the woods.
With a clear mind, the sound of wind in the pines grows sharper,
With a heart free from the world, every vulgar cadence fades away.
Who a thousand leagues off could know I join this noble gathering?
My humble verses blush to match such lofty, exquisite notes.
