El Día de Muertos.

If you’d like to, and only if you feel comfortable, we’d love for you to share a bit about your own culture during the session. It always makes the experience more personal and meaningful. Ask questions if you have any. All cultures share similarities. All questions are great segues into meaningful thinking points.
The other day, we were talking about rituals, altars, and holidays in Korea, and the conversation turned to El Día de Muertos. It’s not exactly the same kind of holiday, but it’s not too different either.

Every culture has similar traditions. We all celebrate holidays. We all mourn when someone we love passes away. We all carry emotions. We all try to be kind, respectful, loving, and caring. I think that’s what tradition and culture are about. Each culture expresses these things differently, while the core is the same.

It’s totally fine if you love coffee, or if you’re more into tea from outside of Korea. Our tea master can still offer useful tips. As both a tea master and a coffee enthusiast, she has a lot of insight to share.
Even the most basic questions are welcome. Like, why do baristas preheat all their tools before brewing? Or, why does my tea always taste bitter and get even more bitter when I add sugar?
We’ve hosted guests from every continent, from all kinds of backgrounds. And we’ve found the same thing again and again: people are kind, curious, and beautiful, wherever they come from. We’re all more alike than we think.
So when you visit us, yes, you’ll learn a thing or two about Korean culture. But if you share a little of your own, it becomes even better. And please, ask anything.
We will also learn just as much when you share.
