Lingering

I was simply walking down the street when I noticed someone. Even with a beanie and a surgical mask on, I knew who it was. I had always felt that I would meet this person one day, somehow, somewhere, in person.

I feel something sometimes. I really do. Right before a booking inquiry arrives, I sometimes sense it. Not every time, but often enough to notice. A quiet signal. A pause before something arrives.

I always knew I would meet this person face to face one day. So I said hello. I introduced myself. I offered a blessing for this person’s family and for their future, and then I left. I did not want to linger. Not to seem cool, but because I wanted the moment to remain simple and light. Some encounters feel complete without needing more words.

I feel things. Not constantly, but clearly when they come. I feel moments, and I feel people, and sometimes I feel them even before they arrive through a message or an inquiry.

Met the person today on a busy street today. In the same way that, not long ago, you stopped by, and we shared tea.

People come and go, and I feel some of the coming and leaving.
